Creativity to save the Planet
Course: 7th grade

Activity proposed during the month of Composting and the World Creativity and innovation Week.
It is about promoting multidisciplinary creative thinking, in view of the sustainable future we want.
How can I have a more sustainable life?
The 7th grade students were motivated by the previous question to create some devices (compost bins) from recycle material (plastic bottles) and organic waste, in order to produce organic fertilizer on a small scale.
Through this activity, students are expected to identify organic waste as biodegradable materials and recyclable waste as those that can become a matterial asset by giving them a second chance.
They are expected to learn how to identify compostable biodegradable materials, to apply this method in their homes, and to get their families involved.
Composting is simple and necessary: a very high amount of waste is produced. Instead of going to a landfill, a large percentage could be converted into fertilizer for plants and provide food.
We give back to nature what it gives us and we learn to have new consumption habits.

Actividad planteada durante el mes del compostaje y por el día mundial de la creatividad e innovación: se trata de promover el pensamiento creativo multidisciplinar, en vistas al futuro sostenible que queremos.
¿Cómo puedo tener una vida más sostenible?
Los estudiantes de 7mo grado se motivaron a partir de la pregunta anterior para la creación de unos dispositivos (composteras) a partir de material reciclado (botellas de plástico) y residuos orgánicos, con la finalidad de producir abono orgánico a pequeña escala.
A través de esta actividad se pretende que los alumnos identifiquen los residuos orgánicos como materiales biodegradables y los residuos reciclables como aquellos que pueden convertirse en un bien material dándoles una segunda oportunidad.
Se espera que aprendan a identificar materiales biodegradables compostables, que apliquen este método en sus hogares y que sus familias se involucren en ello.
Compostar es sencillo y necesario: se produce una cantidad muy elevada de desperdicio que en vez de ir a un relleno sanitario, un gran porcentaje podría convertirse en abono para plantas y proveer alimento.
Devolvemos a la naturaleza lo que nos da y aprendemos a tener nuevos hábitos de consumo.
