Treasure takes many forms, both physical and intangible. As Ottawa celebrates 40 years of HipHop, Patrick McCormack takes us on a treasure hunt – exploring the gems he’s gained from being an active member of the local scene over the last 30 years.
About the speaker
Patrick McCormack is an arts administrator and creative with a 30 year history in Ottawa’s music and cultural community.
Patrick is passionate about how arts can create space for marginalized people and belonging for those seeking community. He has co-launched and operated arts organizations including the 411 Initiative for Change, Capital Rap Battles and Cranium Arts Project. Outside of work he is a soccer dad, an avid home chef and music fan.
He spent years as a hip-hop music artist and producer, he’s a trained audio technician and skilled digital marketer who has worked in Ottawa’s large scale events from entry roles to leadership positions.
