Creative Community Spaces – Day Conference
The day aims to bring together all those who manage the Village Halls and represent communities for a day of collaboration, sharing ideas and making connections.
During our first year working with community trusts and councils, we learned that issues around fundraising, transport, broadening community and board engagement, accessibility, and energy efficiency are relatively common. The idea is to examine these challenges and goals together. There are sixteen Village Halls spread across Howe of Fife, Tay Coast and Tay Bridgehead Wards, and they continue to play a vital role in bringing communities together.
Award-winning artist Peter McCaughey will facilitate the day. Peter and his team at WAVEparticle have curated and delivered artwork for both temporary installations and permanent commissions, including the award-winning Outdoor Museum in Helensburgh; the much-loved 7 Arches permanent painting in Cleland Street Underpass, Glasgow, in collaboration with the Gorbals Arts Project; and new community-generated artwork for Kilmarnock Rail Station.WAVEparticle was selected as the Lead artist / Curatorto for the 16th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia and has also worked with the Scottish Government to deliver sixteen community planning charrettes over the last few years. We are privileged that Peter is also on our Advisory Panel at Heids and Herts Scotland.
