Creative Women – Strong Communities
Training for Women Leaders in Zaporizhzhia
Within the framework of the “Power of Women” program, a one-day intensive training brings together women leaders in Zaporizhzhia who are committed to strengthening their communities through creativity, initiative, and collaboration.
The training is delivered in person by Oksana Sedashova, International Ambassador of Creativity in Ukraine.
The program focuses on developing creative thinking as a practical leadership skill—not a talent reserved for a few, but a capability that can be trained and applied to real community challenges. Participants explore the psychology of creativity, the stages of the creative process, and reflect on their own creative potential.
A key part of the training addresses internal and external barriers that often limit action—such as fear, self-doubt, and ingrained thinking patterns. Through interactive exercises, including a “Creative Self-Portrait,” participants identify their personal strengths and unlock new ways of thinking.
The group then shifts from reflection to action. Using simple yet powerful tools like “5 Whys” and “How Might We,” participants learn to identify real problems in their communities instead of jumping prematurely to solutions. Working in teams, they formulate meaningful challenges grounded in local context.
The second half of the day is dedicated to idea generation. Participants practice structured creativity techniques such as brainstorming, SCAMPER, and inversion, followed by selecting the most promising ideas.
Finally, each team transforms their ideas into clear project concepts using a practical framework focused on three key questions: Who is it for? What change will it create? What exactly will be done? By the end of the session, each group presents a defined initiative, including its name, concept, and expected impact.
The training concludes with presentations, reflection, and a strong focus on next steps—ensuring that ideas move beyond discussion into real implementation.
This event demonstrates that when women develop their creative confidence and leadership capacity, they become powerful drivers of change in their communities.
