Find the Creativity Virus

Between April 15 and 21, a quiet and playful contagion will spread across Porto and beyond.
As part of World Creativity and Innovation Week, the initiative “Find the Creativity Virus” invites the public to stumble upon creativity in unexpected places.
Throughout the week, selected contributors to the book The Creativity Virus will each release five copies into the world—placing them in carefully chosen locations such as hotel lobbies, co-working spaces, cafés, or even waiting rooms. These books are not meant to be found by chance alone, but to spark curiosity, reflection, and creative action.
Published by Mindshake and coordinated by Katja Tschimmel, The Creativity Virus is a bilingual, multidisciplinary collection created by 60 national and international authors. Through texts, images, illustrations, and thought-provoking exercises, the book explores creativity as both a mindset and a practice.
Like a true virus, it spreads through contact.
Its purpose is simple: to “infect” readers with new ways of thinking—encouraging them to see differently, imagine freely, and act creatively in their everyday lives.
Large in format and designed for browsing, the book invites spontaneous interaction. You don’t need to read it from beginning to end. Open it anywhere. Pause. Reflect. Let it trigger an idea.
If you find a copy, take a moment with it. Share it with someone. Or simply let the virus continue its journey.
Because creativity, like any meaningful contagion, grows stronger when it spreads.
