Fostering Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The NIHERST Fab Lab will be hosting a series of activities in commemoration of World Creativity and Innovation Week (WCIW), which are aligned to our mandate: “to enhance the innovative, creative and entrepreneurial capabilities of the general population”. Our Fab Lab is the first of its kind registered in Trinidad and Tobago, and in the region, by the Fab Foundation which emerged from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Center for Bits & Atoms Fab Lab Program. Our lab focuses on design, hands-on projects, robotics, product development and prototyping. We are committed to providing a relaxed environment for tinkering and sharing of ideas, by students, teachers, designers, engineers, inventors, artisans, hobbyists, entrepreneurs and makers of all things.
Details of our offerings for WCIW can be found on the enclosed flyer.
The IP Clinic being hosted on April 15th is dedicated to the Animation Industry of Trinidad and Tobago and their collaborative partners. And the activities scheduled from April 16th to 21st are opened to all nationals to Trinidad and Tobago.
NIHERST’s commemoration of this week is intended to pique interest and build capacity in the use of the Fab Lab to design, create, invent, prototype and solve problems. We also hope to encourage enrollment in the global Fab Lab network and enable Trinidad and Tobago’s population to explore creative, innovative and entrepreneurial undertakings.
