National Symposium on Creativity and Innovation
As part of Saint Lucia’s observance of World Creativity and Innovation Week (WCIW), the Department of Innovation (Saint Lucia) will host a National Symposium under the theme:
“The Ocean’s Call: Innovate, Sustain, Prosper.”
This landmark event will serve as a high-level platform to explore how creativity and innovation can be harnessed to unlock the vast potential of the blue economy, ensuring sustainable growth and inclusive development for coastal communities and the nation at large.
The Symposium will feature a distinguished Keynote Speaker (Dr. Jimmy Fletcher), whose expertise in marine innovation and sustainable ocean economies will set the stage for a series of engaging panel discussions. These panels will bring together local and regional experts, policymakers, entrepreneurs, creatives, and youth voices, all contributing diverse perspectives on topics such as:
Innovative practices in sustainable fisheries and aquaculture
Creative entrepreneurship in coastal and marine industries
Marine conservation through design and technology
Community engagement and youth innovation in the blue economy
The event is envisioned as a collaborative space for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and inspiration, aimed at advancing policy, practice, and partnerships that will shape Saint Lucia’s blue economy agenda.
Through this National Symposium, we reaffirm our commitment to nurturing a culture of innovation—one that is deeply rooted in our identity, responsive to global challenges, and adaptive to the opportunities of a rapidly evolving ocean-based economy.
We welcome the participation of all stakeholders as we continue to harness the power of creativity and innovation in building a more sustainable and prosperous Saint Lucia.
