Roots of Wisdom: A Tapestry of Sustainability

A creative textile art piece made from scrap cloth and jute, depicting a majestic tree with its trunk forming the silhouette of a woman. The tree’s leaves transform into books, hands, and seedlings, symbolizing education, sustainability, and social entrepreneurship. Twisting vines made from jute thread connect elements like a globe, students, and saplings. The artwork has a rich earthy colour palette, with green fabric leaves, brown cloth for the trunk, and textured jute as the background. Embroidery details highlight key elements, and small fabric scraps add texture and depth. The overall aesthetic is eco-friendly, and artistic. This upcycled textile art will beautifully represent my contribution as an academic, social entrepreneur, social researcher, sustainable educator, plant lover and environmentalist while promoting sustainability.
