Branko Broekman
Branko Broekman is director of the Foundation Academy for Creative Leadership. The Academy aims to stimulate creative leadership in Europe. It facilitates a Master of Science program in Creativity and Change Leadership. As adjunct-faculty of the International Center for Studies in Creativity (ICSC) in Buffalo, New York, Branko teaches ‘Facilitating Group Problem Solving’ and acts occasionally as faculty for elective courses.
Branko is managing partner at the School of Creative Thinking, a Dutch organisation dedicated to growing a creative mindset and enhancing uncertainty readiness. He is responsible for the content of the School’s training programs. Branko is the coordinator of the Applied Creativity Advanced Program and trainer of several programs offered by the School. Furthermore he designs and conducts frequently tailor made in-company training formats. Occasionally he contributes to the Creativity Expert Exchange conference in Buffalo, Mindcamp in Toronto and yearly to the CREA conference in Italy. In his capacity as ambassador to the Netherlands for World Creativity and Innovation Week and Day, he connects people to use their creativity in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Branko came home to the inspiring world of creative thinking in 1997. While facilitating sessions in interactive planning, World Cafés and Project kick-offs, he experienced the potential of co-creating new knowledge and applying the creative mindset in teams. Since then he helps people to cook with Columbus’ egg. The fun and passion that springs up when people are forging surprising, original alternatives for complex questions is his drive in work and life. As a speaker about creative leadership, facilitator of productive thinking sessions and as a trainer he offers an effective structure to think and co-create new knowledge with a creative mindset. Originally skilled as a landscape architect and environmental engineer, Branko discovered the power of creative thinking when he was working as a project leader on the restoration of natural areas at the Ministry of Transportation and Water Management in the Netherlands. It made him decide to pursue his Master in Creativity and Change Leadership in 2002 at the International Center for Studies in Creativity, in Buffalo, New York. He is a certified Foursight Advanced trainer and assisted to translate Foursight in Dutch. He is certified MIDAS foundation coach and certified Master Coach in intercultural NLP. He lives his artistic creativity as a sculptor.
Branko has worked with numerous individuals, companies and non-profit organisations throughout Europe, the Middle East, North America, Asia and Africa. Dutch is his mother tongue, he is fluent in English, German and Italian. A more detailed profile can be found on his LinkedIn page.
